Do I need a diagnosis?
Yes — you must have at least one qualifying chronic condition (list provided in intake). Family history alone does not qualify.
What if my disease/condition/diagnosis is not on the list of conditions approved for an LMN?
We are always looking to expand our list of conditions/diagnoses that would benefit from exercise. Please contact us with your condition/diagnoses, and we will research whether it is eligible.
Is my condition eligible?
If your condition is listed above, then you are eligible. If your condition is not listed above, reach out to us to see if we can add it to the eligibility list.
What if I’m not approved?
If you are not approved, you will not be charged, or you will be issued a refund.
Is this safe for my condition?
The physician reviews your history and issues a conservative, modifiable prescription — but you must confirm with your personal doctor that exercise is safe for you.
Is this tax-deductible or FSA/HSA eligible?
Yes — when properly documented as treating a diagnosed condition (IRS Pub 502 & most plan rules). We provide the required LMN.
How do I submit for tax deduction or FSA/HSA reimbursement?
GymRxMD is a medical service. We cannot provide tax or benefit advice. While the letter is typically given to your benefit provider or submitted with your tax filings, you need to speak with a licensed CPA or benefit coordinator to make sure you are submitting the letter and expenses correctly.
Can I renew my prescription?
Yes, your prescription is good for 1 year. It will need to be renewed every year.
How long does it take?
1–2 business days after submission for LMN delivery. Many times, it will be even quicker.
Where are your physicians licensed?
U.S.-licensed in the state where you reside (we comply with state telemedicine laws).
Refund policy?
Full refund if ineligible after physician review. No refunds after LMN issuance.
Disclaimer
- It is understood that GymRxMD provides asynchronous telemedicine services (no live video or audio interaction) delivered by a licensed physician in the state where I reside, for the purpose of reviewing my submitted medical history and issuing a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) and exercise prescription for chronic conditions, at a one-time cash-pay fee of $49 (no insurance billing). The patient acknowledges the benefits of convenience and access, but also the risks and limitations, including the absence of a physical examination, potential for incomplete assessment or misdiagnosis due to reliance on self-reported information, technical issues, and that telemedicine is not suitable for urgent or emergency care. The patient further understands and agrees that GymRxMD and the reviewing physician are not responsible for determining whether the patient is safe to begin or continue exercising; this safety determination can only be made by the patient’s personal treating physician or primary care provider who has full knowledge of the patient’s complete medical history, current medications, and clinical status. The patient has been informed of alternatives such as in-person evaluation, the patient’s right to refuse or discontinue services at any time, and the confidentiality protections under applicable federal (HIPAA) and state laws. The patient agrees to the cash-pay terms, electronic delivery of the LMN, and that the patient is responsible for any tax, FSA/HSA, or reimbursement eligibility determinations. The patient voluntarily consents to receive these telemedicine services.
